Florida Gears Up For Back To School Sales Tax Holiday

Stores across the Sunshine State are gearing up for the upcoming sales tax holiday on back to school supplies.

According to James Miller with the Florida Retail Federation, merchants love the tax holiday because it's second only to Black Friday in sales.

Miller says consumers are expected to save up to a total of $40-million this year.

The sales tax holiday runs from Friday, August 3rd, through Sunday the 5th.

Eligible items include clothing, shoes, and bags costing 60 dollars or less, and school supplies costing 15 dollars or less.
