SoFla Caretakers Arrested For Duct Taping Woman To Chair, Duct Taping Mouth

Two caretakers at a South Florida assisted living facility were arrested after they allegedly used duct tape to restrain a woman in their care to a chair and to tape her mouth shut.

Boynton Beach Police arrested 52-year-old Lashron Williams and 44-year-old Phygelle Brudent on Thursday. Each now faces charges of elderly abuse and false imprisonment.

Police said the women, who were caretakers at the Regal Park Assisted Living Facility, used duct tape to restrain the 67-year-old woman who suffers from dementia to a chair on July 3. 

Authorities said they also used it on her mouth to stop her from screaming.

Williams and Brudent were booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
