Gator Hunting Permits Are Available Today In Florida

If hunting alligators sounds like your cup of tea, starting today in Florida, you can get a permit to do so!

The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is making more than 1.300 permits available.

The alligator trapping license/harvest permit will cost $272 for Florida residents, $22 for people with a Florida Resident Persons with Disabilities Hunting and Fishing License, and $1,022 for non-residents of Florida, according to the FWC's Guide to Alligator Hunting in Florida.

Hunting is one of the FWC's approaches to managing the state's gator population, which totals nearly 1.3 million.

The permits are now available for purchase at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com or in-person at a license agent or county tax collector’s office.
