The Army Corps of Engineers is currently suspending any more water discharges from Lake Okeechobee into the Caloosahatchee and St. Lucie estuaries.
The corps says it will use the time to conduct a full assessment of water conditions and the algae outbreak reported on both coasts.
Governor Scott is touring the Caloosahatchee today (Monday), following up on water quality monitors that he ordered installed last month.
