Fourth Of July Tornado Touches Down In Central Florida

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado that touched down in the Central Florida city of Tavares yesterday, on the Fourth of July.  

According to the NWS, winds between 70 and 80 miles an hour tore through the roofs of homes.  

However, no serious injuries were reported.

Following the storm, Tavares went ahead with its Independence Day parade and fireworks as scheduled!
