Miami Nursing Home Received Bomb Threat, Police Say

Authorities say a nursing home in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood received a bomb threat late Tuesday.

Miami police closed the area around the Victoria Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in the 900 block of Northwest Third Street to traffic.

According to officials, the building was not evacuated, however, police were searching each floor looking for explosives on Tuesday.

The threat comes after a string of South Florida hospitals being targeted with similar threats.

In addition to the hospital scares, the Miami Police Department bomb squad has been called to several locations in recent weeks to investigate suspicious packages.

While the police operations briefly shut down city streets, causing traffic delays, no explosives were found.
