Gov. Scott Traveling To Kuwait Over Independence Day Week

This week, Florida Governor Rick Scott will be traveling to Kuwait, where troops from the Florida National Guard and Army Reserves from Orlando are currently stationed.

The governor announced on Sunday that he plans to meet with servicemen and women and military officials at Camps Arifjan and Buehring.

Scott calls it "an honor" to celebrate Independence Day with "the brave men and women who are currently serving and protecting our freedom."

The governor's office says he'll also be bringing the troops some reminders of home.
