With the 4th of July holiday just two days away, drivers throughout South Florida should expect to pay some extra $$ when filling up the tank. In fact, SoFla gas prices over the Independence Day holiday are the highest they've been since 2014.
Prices actually dropped nearly one cent from last week, down to $2.77 a gallon on Sunday – five cents higher than the statewide average but seven cents lower than the national.
The state average of $2.72 is the highest since 2014, when motorists paid an average of $3.60 a gallon over the July 4th holiday.
In Broward County, you'll find the cheapest gas at the Marathon station (Sheridan Street and State Road 7 )for $2.55 a gallon and the Chevron (Hollywood Boulevard and 56th Avenue) for $2.59 per gallon.
In Miami-Dade, drivers can pay $2.63 a gallon at the Westar station (Southwest 22nd Street and 22nd Avenue) and $2.65 at the 7-Eleven (Northwest 79th Street and 7th Avenue).
A significant amount of drivers are expected to travel over the holiday, most by car.
