Unemployment Lines Are Getting Longer Throughout The United States

The nation's unemployment lines are getting longer...

Thursday morning's figures from the U.S. Labor Department show 227,000 Americans filed first-time claims for unemployment benefits last week.

That's 9,000 more than the previous week.

Analysts were expecting that number (227K) to come in at right around 220,000.

Things are at least looking a little up in the Sunshine State. The sharpest declines in unemployment claims were in Florida, New York, Tennessee, Illinois,  and Georgia.

The biggest increases in unemployment claims were in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, California, Puerto Rico, and Delaware.
