Judge Blocks Former Commissioner From Running For Key West Mayor

A former city commissioner is not being allowed to run for mayor of Key West.

A Monroe County judge ruled on Wednesday that Mark Rossi's name can not appear on the August 28th ballot after he missed a deadline to pay a filing fee.

"Florida Keys News" reports the judge said a law that gives a candidate 48 hours to pay a fee if a check doesn't clear can't be applied in this case.

It's not clear if Rossi plans to appeal the ruling.
