Broward Schools To Hire New Armed Guards

The Broward School board is going to hire new armed guards for each school in the district.  The decision follows a new law enacted following the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February.  Officials say they would prefer to have approved School Resource Officers from the Broward Sheriff's office in every school, but the costs would not be feasible.  Instead, Superintendent Robert Runice is looking at a plan to hire veterans and retired cops with the proper training.
