A group of Florida Democrats including Representative Fredricka Wilson visited the Homestead Temporary Shelter for Unaccompanied Children Saturday, and got the chance to speak to some of the 70 children who have been separated from their parents. Senator Bill Nelson said he was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the facility, but said officials need specific instruction on how to reunify families as soon as possible. Senator Nelson and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz attempted to visit the facility earlier this week, but were denied entry.
