Update: Accused Parkland Shooter Court Date Moved To July

Update: 2:22 p.m.

A Broward County judge has pushed back Thursday afternoon's hearing for the accused Marjory Stoneman Douglas High shooter.  It has been moved until July.  The teen's attorneys want to prevent the confession he made to cops from being released to the media.  He's charged with the first-degree murders of 17 students and staff and the attempted murder of 17 others.

The accused shooter in the Parkland attack is due in court Thursday afternoon.  He's charged with murdering 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and Thursday's status hearing is expected to center around routine motions.  Another hearing is scheduled for July 16th to determine how much of his confession should be made public.  Defense attorneys argue that the continued release of incriminating statements made by Cruz jeopardizes his chance of getting a fair trial.
