South Florida Students Are Making The Grade

With a 20% jump in total test scores for math, English, and science, Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto Carvalho says this is not the time to cut back on school spending. "We’re talking about a reinvestment of education dollars that recognizes this stellar performance.", Carvalho said.

Individual grades aren’t ready yet, but Carvalho predicts that with these test scores for the second year in a row, Miami-Dade will not have any F-rated schools.

Broward County schools either maintained or increased the percentage of students scoring at least Level 3 on 16 of the 21 tested areas.
