Millions Sought By Suspect in Hallandale Beach Police Beating

The attorney for the man involved in a police beating caught on video in Hallandale Beach, is asking the mayor for $2 million dollars to settle.

"They violated his civil rights, that's a federal action, so I'll be filing this in the federal court if we can't agree on a fair settlement," said Ronald Guralnick.

The suspect, Daniel Dunkelberger, 27, is accused of stealing a cell phone and a charger from a car.  Surveillance video appears to show him resisting officers arrest and then you see the officers repeatedly hitting the accused with their batons while he's on the ground.

The police union defends the officers actions.
