Unemployment Rate Drops in Florida

The nation's unemployment lines are shorter.

Thursday morning's figures from the Labor Department show 221,000 Americans filed first-time claims for unemployment benefits last week, 13,000 fewer than the week before.  Most experts were expecting that number to come in at right around 224,000.

The biggest drops in claims were in Missouri, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Florida.
