Sen. Nelson Says State Won't Accept Funds To Make Voting More Secure

Florida Senator Bill Nelson is blasting the state's refusal to accept federal funds to enhance voting equipment security ahead of the upcoming November elections.

In light of findings by the intelligence community that Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. elections, Congress has allocated some $300-million for states to help make their voting infrastructures more secure.

That includes $19-million for Florida.

But Nelson says the state has yet to apply for one single dollar and that there are no plans to do so. Nelson says Florida voters deserve answers.
