Rain Is Preventing Big Cypress National Park Fires From Spreading

Fires continue to burn in the Big Cypress National Preserve in Southwest Florida, but for now, the rain is keeping them from spreading.

Five fires grouped under the name Avian Complex cover more than 82,000 acres.

They are 35-percent contained at this point and are expected to be fully contained by the end of May.

The fires started burning more than a month ago.
