Rabies Alert Issued For Portion Of Kendall, Officials Say

A portion of Miami-Dades's Kendall neighborhood is now under a rabies alert.

The Miami-Dade Health Department has confirmed a raccoon tested positive for the disease on Tuesday.

The 60-day alert includes the areas between Southwest 152nd and 187th Avenues and 117th and 137th Avenues. Residents are reminded to make sure their pets' vaccines are up to date and they stay away from all wildlife.

The Health Department is looking to find anyone who may have been exposed to the infected animal.
