Driver Ejected, Pinned In Early Morning Crash On I-95

A man is in the hospital after an early Friday morning crash on Interstate 95 where he was ejected from a car.

Authorities say the crash happened about 3:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95 near Hallandale Beach Boulevard.

Witnesses said the driver crashed into a pole before rolling off the highway. 

The pole crashed on top of the car, pinning the driver. Witnesses say they were able to ban together and lift the light pole off of the man.

Witnesses said he was unresponsive when he was taken away by paramedics. 

The man's condition wasn't immediately known.

The crash snarled southbound traffic on I-95 for several hours.
