The younger brother of the accused Parkland shooter claims he had his own encounter with an armed Nikolas Cruz before he went on a murderous Valentine's Day rampage, killing 17 inside a Broward high school with an AR-15 semi-automatic.
In an interview with "The Miami Herald," Zachary Cruz says a dispute over a jar of Nutella prompted Nikolas to retrieve a long gun from his bedroom, load it, and point it at Zachary.
The younger Cruz says he shouted at his brother, "If you're gonna shoot me, shoot me!"
He says Nikolas then calmed down, went back to his bedroom, put the gun away, and sat down to watch TV.
"After that day," Zachary told the Herald, "I never messed with him again."
