Waffle House Shooting Hero Meets With Stoneman Douglas Students In Florida

Tennessee Waffle House shooting hero James Shaw, Jr., is meeting with others who've recently dealt with a deadly mass shooting.

On Saturday in Florida, 29-year-old Shaw met with survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. The group sat don for breakfast at a local Denny's.

Seventeen people were killed in the shooting in South Florida in February.

Shaw posted on social media that he enjoyed meeting with the survivors who he said had so much fire and inspiration in their eyes.

“I met one of my heros today,” Shaw wrote on Twitter, with a photo of him posing with Emma González and a blue teddy bear. “

Meeting the young adults of the Parkland incident so much fire and inspiration in their eyes was a great joy,” he said in a later tweet.
