Gas Prices $oar Across South Florida

If you realize you have to fill up at the tank this morning, here's a bit of unfortunate news. The rise in gas prices is continuing throughout South Florida this week.

Drivers are paying nearly 50 cents more to fill their tanks than at this same point last year.

The average price for a gallon of fuel sits at $2.82 for the Sunshine State. Still, that number is four cents below the national average (but still the highest prices since November 2014), according to AAA.

At $2.85, Fort Lauderdale has one of the highest averages in the state – but drivers can go to the Valero station at 1199 West State Road 84 for gas at $2.71.

In Miami-Dade, the cheapest gas is at the Marathon station located at 2442 West Flagler Street where drivers will pay just $2.63 a gallon.
