The State Attorneys office in Miami-Dade has filed enhanced hate crime charges against the four suspects accused of attacking a gay couple during this year's Miami Beach Pride festivities.
Last month, four suspects were caught on surveillance video attacking a gay couple after the annual Pride Parade in South Beach.
Those suspects, identified as Luis M. Alonso, 20, and 21-year-olds Juan C. Lopez, Adonis Diaz and Pablo Reinaldo Romo, turned themselves in shortly after the surveillance footage was released.
Records showed the men were charged with multiple counts of aggravated battery. All four had since bonded out of jail.
Miami Beach Police originally said the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office would decide if the hate crime enhancement would be added to the charges.
As reported, those charges were added today.
If convicted, each man could face up to 30 years in prison.
