CDC: Romaine E. Coli Outbreak Getting Worse, Spread To Florida

The romaine lettuce E. coli outbreak is getting bigger.

The CDC says the outbreak has spread to 29 states, most recently to our home state of Florida, along with Minnesota, North Dakota and Texas.

One person has died and 148 others have gotten E. coli from the lettuce, including 64 people who've been hospitalized.

The CDC has not released any new information about the Arizona farms that may be connected to the tainted lettuce, or how it entered the food system.
