A two-day Stand Your Ground hearing is underway in the case of a now former Palm Beach Gardens cop accused of killing a stranded motorist.
Nouman Raja is charged with attempted murder and manslaughter by culpable negligence of Corey Jones.
Raja was not in uniform and in an unmarked vehicle when he approached Jones with his broken down car on I-95.
He claims Jones threatened him with a gun, and that's why he shot and killed him.In opening statements state prosecutors said this is a Stand Your Ground case but for Jones.
The first witness Raja's defense team called to the stand was an audio forensic expert to analyze the roadside assistance call Jones made.
He was on that call when the deadly shots were fired.
