Civil Rights Group Files Lawsuit On Behalf Of Zachary Cruz

Claiming he's been tortured behind bars, a pro-bono civil-rights law firm is filing a civil lawsuit on behalf of Zachary Cruz - the brother of the accused Parkland shooter.

Nexus Derechos Humanos is planning a Thursday afternoon press conference where attorneys will claim by setting his bond at $500,000 for skateboarding at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, his 8th Amendment rights were violated.

They also allege Cruz was deprived of sleep, forced to wear a restraint vest 24 hours a day and put under intense lighting.

The suit is against the Broward Sheriff's Office, the judge and the Broward State Attorney's Office.

Cruz was arrested in Palm Beach on Monday after he allegedly violated his probation by getting close to a Lake Worth school and drove without a license.
