South Florida Gas Prices Experience Dip, But Everything's Still High

Gas prices are finally experiencing a (small) dip throughout South Florida -- but drivers will still need to shell out a hefty chunk of change to fill up at the pump.

The average price for a gallon fell slightly less than one cent from last week to $2.79. That number is still six cents higher than the average across the Sunshine State, but sits two cents below the national average of $2.81.

According to AAA, that national average is up over four cents from last week and is at its highest point since November 2014.

Prices have gone up nearly 34 cents from this point last year in South Florida and almost 10 cents higher than last month.

In Miami-Dade, your cheapest option is $2.63 at the Marathon station located at 2442 West Flagler Street.

In Broward County, the cheapest option is the 7-Eleven station located at 1545 Northeast 4th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale for $2.57 a gallon.
