Dog Reunited With Owner After Being Stolen From Palm Beach Gardens Petco

The dog of a Palm Beach Gardens family has been reunited with his rightful owners after being stolen over the weekend, police say. Authorities continue to search for whomever might have stolen him.

Owner Danielle Cameron and 11-year-old “Teddy” the Maltese reunited just after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department.

Cameron told police she left her beloved pup, who is blind and suffers from diabetes, at a Petco location Saturday evening for a grooming appointment.

When she arrived to pick him up, an employee said Teddy had been taken by another woman.

Police found Teddy in the home of Heather Ryan. They continue to search for the 48-year-old woman, who they say may be in Broward County.

According to authorities, Ryan's personal belongings were last seen at a Tri-Rail Station in Cypress Creek.

Petco issued a statement saying they are taking the situation “very seriously” and are working with local authorities.

“We have strict policies in place designed to ensure the safety of pets in our grooming salons, and based on what we’ve learned so far, it’s clear those policies were not followed,” the company wrote. “We will be taking appropriate corrective action.”

Cameron says her family will be pressing charges in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Palm Beach Gardens Police.
