Pompano Beach Welfare Check Uncovers 1 Dead, Another Unresponsive

A welfare check at a Pompano Beach home on Tuesday led officials to a disturbing discovery.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies treating the case that took place along Northeast 24th Avenue as a murder investigation.

According to officials, concerned friends called BSO because Patrick Palmer had not showed up for work in a few days.

Deputies said they found Palmer’s body bloody and unconscious, as well as the deceased body of an unidentified woman. According to authorities, the woman’s body has been there for so long that detectives will need DNA to identify her.

Those who knew Palmer said he is married to Sherry Palmer, according to authorities. The two own a bar around the corner from their house.

Palmer is recovering in the hospital and is being called a person of interest in the case.

BSO continues to investigate the incident and is asking for anyone with information to come forward.
