NWS: Tornado Causes Damage Across Florida Keys

Officials say a tornado swept through the Florida Keys this weekend, leaving wreckage in its path.

The National Weather Service says the Sunday night storm that ran from Plantation Key to Tavernier carried with it wind speeds of 86 to 110 mph.

A large mahogany tree was completely uprooted, and another large tree was split near San Pedro Catholic Church, according to NWS.

Forecasters also say several residents of the Indian Waterways subdivision reported doors ripped off their hinges.
