Tax Deadline Day Wasn't Yesterday... And It's Not Today, Either!

If you were one of those who thought Sunday was the deadline for filing your taxes, you might be surprised to know that today is also not tax filing deadline day!

Monday, instead, marks a holiday in Washington, DC.

Government workers have today off for Emancipation Day, which marks the day President Lincoln signed the Compensated Emancipation Act back in 1862.

Therefore, your federal and state taxes are due tomorrow. If you've waited until now to file, you're down to the final 24 hours to do so.
