Miami Beach Has New Rules Regarding Expen$ive Food, Drink Prices

The city of Miami Beach has new rules for restaurants when it comes to charging steep prices for food and drink menu items.

After all, The Miami Herald reports one cocktail can cost more than $50 in certain cases, and that food specials can price check in the hundreds of dollars at several restaurants on Ocean Drive!!

Miami Beach is now making it mandatory for restaurants to display prices for all food, drinks and specials, as well as any service charges, on menus at sidewalk cafe tables.

Commissioners passed the new rules this week to enable the city to revoke violators' permits for sidewalk cafe tables and business licenses.

Overall, the regulations are part of an effort to improve the visitor experience in South Beach.
