Pompano Beach Approves Plans For New, Super Tall High-Rise

The Pompano Beach skyline looks like it will soon be getting a makeover.

The city commission has given initial approval to a plan for two-high rises, one of which would be over 354 feet high and the tallest in Pompano Beach.

The "Sun Sentinel" reports the project also had to be approved by the Federal Aviation Administration to make sure it wouldn't interfere with air traffic at the Pompano Airpark and Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.

Residents of nearby condos had been opposed to the high rises, but most appear to be satisfied with concessions made by the developer.
