Panicked, Weekend Lockdown Leads To Arrest Of Man At Dolphin Mall

A man is behind bars after a fight between two men caused a scene of panic and chaos on Saturday night at the Dolphin Mall.

David Andrew Smith, 31, was arrested and charged with physical battery.

The fight, which apparently started on the courtyard by the mall’s main entrance, escalated when people at the mall started panicking.

Cell phone video showed the chaotic scene, as panicked people ran out into the parking lots.

Authorities say that during the fight, rumors of a shooting arose and caused the mall to evacuate and go on lockdown.

Several people who were inside the mall were allegedly convinced they heard gun shots after they were directed to take cover.

Ultimately, no shots were fired and it was a false alarm, according to Sweetwater police
