Miami Beach's 10th Annual Gay Pride Week officially kicked off Monday night, but it's tonight when the festivities really start heating up!
And although at its roots, the week honors and supports the LGBTQ community near and far, the celebrations of equality, understanding, and acceptance are really for everyone.
"As [the event] has evolved over the years, you see a lot of children... a lot of families," says DJ Tracy Young, iHeartRadio's 93.9 MIA host, who has been involved with Pride events for the past two plus decades. "It's really a celebration and it's about love and just about being kind to your neighbor.
"It's a very simple concept that I think we forget about on a day-to-day basis sometimes."
Events throughout the weekend include:
- Thursday night's PAMM Free Community Night: PRIDE
- Friday's Pride Event VIP Gala at the Faena Forum
- Friday's Basement Pride Kick Off Party
- Saturday's Beach Party Festival Village in Lummus Park with Expo
- Sunday's Pride Parade and Festival
...And that's just the beginning of the fun. For a complete list of the weekend's planned events, click here.
