On the eve of the 50th anniversary of Civil Rights icon Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination, the city of Miami has unveiled a new sign along the Boulevard that honors his name.
Tuesday afternoon's ribbon cutting ceremony took place at the restored median at Martin Luther King Boulevard and 6th Avenue.
The post-Hurricane Irma beautification project included the new sign, landscaping and an irrigation system.
