Florida Middle School Teacher Accused Of Sex Acts With Student

A Florida middle school teacher is accused of engaging in sex acts with one of his 13-year-old students in his classroom, according to authorities.

Seventh-grade math Jeffrey Anthony Tomasulo, 29, was arrested in Stuart Thursday on a sexual battery charge, according to a Martin County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

According to the report, a school resource officer was alerted to allegations of "suspicious behavior" regarding Tomasulo, who was alleged to have tickled several female students.

The report said students were tickled on their stomachs, thighs and armpits by Tomasulo, causing them to feel uncomfortable.

A student's mother told authorities that her daughter admitted to engaging in a sex act with Tomasulo in his classroom when no other students were present, the report said.

The teen said Tomasulo had recently started to ask her "creepy" questions, like if she had lost her "V-card" yet, referring to her virginity, the report said. He also asked her about things she had done with her boyfriend, according to the report.

Tomasulo started asking the girl to stay late after class, the girl said, and she began engaging in sex acts with him in the classroom starting in January, the report said. She said that happened at least five times, according to the report.

When Tomasulo was questioned by investigators, he denied that any sexually activity had occurred and said they had been alone but only so he could tutor her in math, the report said.

Tomasulo agreed to take a polygraph test and admitted to watching pornography in his classroom alone, the report said. He then said the teen had been "sexually aggressive with him" and said he allowed her to perform a sexual act on him in the classroom, the report said.

Tomasulo remained behind bars Friday, jail records showed.
