Memorial Service For The Late Wayne Huizenga To Be Held Thursday

On Thursday morning, South Florida will honor the life of well known entrepreneur Wayne Huizenga.

The business tycoon became the first man to own teams in three major sports leagues – the Miami Dolphins, Marlins and the Florida Panthers.

A true entrepreneur, Huizenga also founded three Fortune 500 companies, including Fort Lauderdale-based AutoNation.

Huizenga passed away last Thursday at the age of 80, following a long battle with cancer.

The memorial for Huizenga will take place at the Aurene Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, located at 201 SW 5th Ave in Fort Lauderdale.

AutoNation chairman and CEO Mike Jackson, as well as members of the Huizenga family, are expected to speak at the service.

It begins at 10 a.m. and will be open to the public.
