3-Week-Old Baby Is At The Center Of An International Custody Dispute

A 3-week-old Cuban-American baby is at the center of a dispute between her father in Cuba and the family of her mother in the United States.

The infant, Valeria, was born in Miami, but her mother died while giving birth.

Valeria's dad is in Cuba, and he wants to raise the girl there, but her local relatives want to raise the girl in South Florida.

An immigration lawyer says while Valeria is a US citizen, her father, as the sole surviving parent, should determine where the child will live.
