Miami Violin Instructor Accused Of Sexual Battery On Teen Student

A 57-year-old Miami-area violin instructor is accused of sexually battering one of his 14-year-old students.

Authorities say Joseph Michel was arrested Thursday on a charge of sexual battery on a minor.

An arrest report said the incident happened on Feb. 26 as the teen girl was taking a class in the living room of Michel's home.

The girl later told her mother that Michel fondled her breast and touched her privates under her clothing, the report said. Michel denied the allegations to police, according to the report.

Michel appeared in court Friday where he was ordered held on $25,000 bond.
