On March For Our Lives Weekend, Trump Will Be In Florida

The President won't be in Washington, D.C. when hundreds of thousands of teens stage the March for Our Lives this Saturday.

Instead, President Donald Trump and the First Lady are heading to Palm Beach on Friday afternoon.

The Trumps are expected to be at the Mar-A-Lago estate in Palm Beach through the weekend. Their plans aren't known.

On Friday morning, five buses filled with students, parents, teachers, and friends from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School left from Coral Springs, ready to participate in the march to demand an end to gun violence and mass shootings in schools.

South Florida students boarded buses this morning. They're now on their way to Washington D.C. for Saturday's March For Our Lives rally, and are expected to arrive in the nation's capitol 6 a.m. Saturday.

The 16-hour ride was organized by MSDHS alumni who helped raise $25,000 for the trip.

On Feb. 14 Stoneman Douglas was the scene of a mass shooting by a former student who now awaits trial for taking 17 lives that day.

March events will also be taking place across South Florida and the nation. Live coverage on WIOD will begin at 11 a.m. Tune in here:
