It's another sign of moving forward following the tragedy that took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14.
The memorial at Pines Trail Park has been removed.
But just because they are removing the items does not mean they plan to forget what happened.
The Parkland Historical Society says some of the items carefully removed are being preserved for a future memorial.
It is believed that items like teddy bears and emotional letters will go in to a city archive. The other mementos will be cleaned and photographed by city historians before being placed into boxes.
There’s talk of building a permanent museum in Parkland for these items some day.
Up to 20,000 people are expected to pack into Pines Trail Park next Saturday for a March for Our Lives rally.
