More Americans Are Filing For Unemployment, But The Market Stays Strong

More Americans are filing first-time claims for unemployment benefits, but even still, the trend continues to point to a strong labor market.

The Labor Department on Thursday announced that initial claims for benefits increased 21,000 to a seasonally adjusted 231,000 for the week ended March 3.

Claims dropped to 210,000 in the prior week  --  the lowest level since December 1969.
