Donna Shalala made it official Wednesday that she will be running in 2018 for the 27th District Congressional seat being vacated by Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.
She made her run official via the release of a campaign video.
Shalala, 77, served with President Bill Clinton as the secretary of Health and Human Services beginning in 1993. Later on in her career, she became the president of the University of Miami and served that position until 2015. She was also the chief executive of the Clinton Foundation during the 2016 presidential election cycle.
