Small Plane Crashes At Pompano Airpark

A small plane crashed into a Pompano Beach Airpark fence Thursday, just one day after another small plane had its landing gear collapse.

Fire Rescue officials said the single engine Piper Cherokee 6 airplane overshot the runway at the airport at 1001 Northeast 10th Street around 10 a.m.

A 50-year-old male pilot and his 61-year-old male passenger were not injured, authorities reported. Both pilot and passenger are from Boca Raton.

The six passenger plane is a total loss, officials said.

On Wednesday, another small plane had its landing gear collapse on the airport's runway. No one was reportedly injured.
