Watch: Students Return To Stoneman Douglas High For First Time In 2 Weeks

Classes are resuming for the first time at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School since the deadly shooting on February 14th.

On Tuesday morning, an intense police presence was visible outside of the school as students, teachers, faculty, and staff made their way inside the building. Students say seeing the officers is both comforting and a bit nerve wracking.

Most are hoping to define a new sense of normalcy and will attempt to pick up with their lives and education at MSDHS. On the other hand, and rightfully so, 10 students have said they will never come back to this campus, along with five teachers, as emotions are way too high.

Everyone will be on a modified schedule, in class from 7:40 a.m. to 11:40 a.m., before returning to a full schedule on Monday.

Support services will be available throughout the week for students, staff and even parents who need help in dealing with the return to school and the tragic events that surrounded the school’s closure.
