MSDHS Mother To NRA: "[Your Comments] Are Vile, Wretched, Disgusting"

A mother affected by the Parkland High School massacre is snapping back at the National Rifle Association and what she calls their "despicable and vile" comments in the aftermath of the shooting.

NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch called crying white mothers “ratings gold” while speaking at the annual CPAC convention last week, as devastated mother Cathi Rush listened on.

Rush took the comments to heart – she is one of two woman seen in a picture (above) taken outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14th, crying in the arms of another mother also in tears after 17 people were killed inside the school.

“We were just screaming and crying together. I didn’t know about my children and I really hope that Dana from the NRA never has to experience that,” Rush said in an interview with NBC 6.

“I mean, does she have no sympathy, no empathy at all,” Rush said. “I truly believe that its vile, it’s a wretched disgusting thing for her to say.

“I don’t know that it was targeted toward me specifically,” Rush said when asked about Loesch’s comments. “There were lots of moms crying in lots of pictures. I wasn’t the only one, but that photo of me - I hate that picture. You can’t even believe how much I hate that picture.”

Rush says both of her children will return to the school on Wednesday as classes resume for the first time since the mass shooting.
