Eviction Notice Filed For Venezuelan Consulate In Downtown Miami

One day after Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro said he would reopen the country’s consulate in downtown Miami, landlord Tibor Hollo filed a lawsuit to evict them.

Hollo says the country owes over $142,000 in unpaid rent for their former consulate located at 1101 Brickell Avenue. Payments allegedly haven't been made since Sept. 2017.

Hugo Chavez closed the embassy in 2012, But President Nicolas Maduro announced on Feb. 14th that it would reopen for an upcoming election.

There has been no comment from any Venezuela officials on the eviction.
