Fifteen-year-old Peter Wang was a freshman at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where he was a member of the ROTC program.
He was wearing his gray ROTC shirt Wednesday when the shooting happened. A friend of his said Wang was holding a door to let other students out before him when he was shot and killed.
“He is so brave. He is the person who is genuinely kind to everyone. He doesn’t care about popularity. He always liked to cheer people up. He is like the big brother everyone wished they had,’’ a cousin told news outlets.
She said that Wang had two younger brothers, ages 11 and 5.
His parents, who were too upset to talk, own a restaurant in West Palm Beach.
